Prince Declares the Internet "Dead"

Bruns, in his paper on Produsage refers to "'Generation C', whose creative engagement in content development will lead to a casual collapse of ... formal requirements and laws modern societies have held dear - including a good part of the traditional content production industries." He goes on to say, "this is already evident in the crises experienced by industries as diverse as software, journalism, music...each of which have struggled to hold on to existing markets while finding it difficult to attract new consumers."
Maybe this is why Prince has decided to declare the internet's demise. The music industry (and Prince) has struggled tremendously with file sharing, remixing, etc. Given that the internet has created the foundation for many of the threats to his income, what better way to fight this phenomena than to declare the internet to be "dead"? Prince, wishing the internet would just magically disappear so you could go back to the good old days when the music industry controlled all production and distribution won't solve anything. All jokes aside, the only thing disappearing is you.
